Road blocked by Puja celebrations in Entally; Scuffle leads to 4 arrests

On February 2, at around 10:30 PM, a group of local boys celebrating at a nearby puja pandal on 18 Dr. Suresh Sarkar Road, Kolkata, began dancing in the middle of the road, causing a traffic blockage. As motorcycles attempted to pass through the area, a dispute arose between the riders and the group, with both parties claiming the right to use the road. The situation escalated into a violent scuffle, involving physical altercations between the two groups.

Following the disturbance, a complaint was filed with the police, prompting the registration of a specific case under Entally Police Station Case No. 25, dated February 3, 2025. The case includes charges under sections 115 (abetting an offence), 118(1) (disobedience to a lawful order), 54 (obstructing public way), 191(2) (giving false information), 191(3) (non-compliance), and 190 BNS (public mischief). Four individuals involved in the altercation were arrested based on the complaint and evidence gathered by the police.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Authorities have confirmed that further legal actions will follow as necessary.
